Το Beyond Human Impulses είναι project αφιερωμένο στην τέχνη της Επιτέλεσης (Performance art). Ξεκίνησε το 2016 στο Ρέικιαβικ της Ισλανδίας σε συνεργασία με το Mengi, ένα χώρο συναυλιακών και θεατρικών παραστάσεων. Μέσα σε ένα χρόνο, το Beyond Human Impulses έδωσε πάνω από 75 παραστάσεις. Σε μια κίνηση εξωστρέφειας, αποφάσισε να έρθει και να παρουσιάσει τη σειρά performances και στην Αθήνα. Στόχος είναι η δημιουργία ενός προσωρινού χώρου όπου η ζωντανή τέχνη (live art) δημιουργείται, προβάλλεται και γιορτάζεται.
Το Beyond Human Impulses θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην παλιά Αποθήκη Χαρτού, στο εμπορικό τριγώνο της Αθήνας. Το εσωτερικό του κτιρίου διατηρεί τα αρχικά του στοιχεία, ωστόσο τα επιμέρους χαρακτηριστικά που προσδιόριζαν τη συγκεκριμένη επιχείρηση, δεν υπάρχουν πια. Οι 18 καλλιτέχνες που συμμετέχουν στο Beyond Human Impulses εντάσσονται και ταυτόχρονα αποκλίνουν από το χώρο. Το κτίριο της Οδού Χρυσοσπηλιωτίσσης 3, θα γίνει σημείο άφιξης και αναχώρησης. Παρακαλώ ελάτε μαζί μας σε αυτό το ταξίδι. Κάποιες από τις εγκαταστάσεις χρησιμοποιούν τον ήχο και το χρώμα για να προσδιορίσουν την κινητικότητα, άλλες διερευνούν τη μορφή και τη μετάδοση της ομιλίας, την απόδοση της ευθραυστότητας. Κάποιες ενότητες μπλέκονται με την ιστορία του θεάτρου, άλλες σχετίζονται με την πράξη της επανάληψης όπου ο καλλιτέχνης λειτουργεί ως δέκτης, καταγράφοντας μια συγκεκριμένη κατάσταση. Η μέθοδος και η πρακτική του Beyond Human Impulses βρίσκεται στη δημιουργία μιας ανοιχτής πλατφόρμας εργασίας όπου μπορούν να παρουσιαστούν, να βιώσουν και να συζητηθούν οι δουλείες.
Το ζωντανό σύνολο των 18 διαφορετικών performance θα παρουσιαστεί από τις 13 μέχρι και τις 15 Απριλίου.

Η σειρά performance Beyond Human Impulses παρουσιάζεται από το Athens Intersection στο εμπορικό Τρίγωνο της Αθήνας σε συνεργασία με τον δήμο Αθηναίων. Το κτίριο της οδού Χρυσοσπηλιωτίσσης 3 είναι ευγενική παραχώρηση του Ιδρύματος Χατζηκώνστα που άνοιξε μετά από 17 χρόνια χάρη στο πιλοτικό Πρόγραμμα Αναβάθμισης Εμπορικού Τριγώνου του δήμου Αθηναίων που στόχο έχει την συνολική αναζωογόνηση της περιοχής. To πρόγραμμα του δήμου ενισχύει αποκλειστική δωρεά από το Ίδρυμα Σταύρος Νιάρχος (ΙΣΝ) με τη συνεργασία του Athens Partnership.
Το Athens Intersection επιμελείται ο Γιώργος Γεωργακόπουλος, συντονίζει η Φωτεινή Καπίρη, και τη σειρά Performances επιμελείται ο Θάνος Βόβολης.
Beyond Human Impulses
PerformancesBeyond Human Impulses is a project dedicated to performance art. It was initiated in 2016 in Reykjavik Iceland in collaboration with MENGI, a concert and theatre venue. In less then a year, Beyond Human Impulses has presented over 75 performances and is at present relocating to Athens Greece. The project aims in the future, to create a contemporary space with focus on live art.
Beyond Human Impulses will be presented at an old paper warehouse within the Athens Commercial Triangle. The interior of the building preserves its original characteristics, yet there is nothing left to reveal the previous business. 18 artists participating in Beyond Human Impulses will inline with the contrasts and the diversity of the space. 3 Chrysospiliotissis Street will become a point of departure; the audience is welcome to join. An installation piece uses sound and color to convey transformation, another explores the form and convention of speech and how to mediate the condition of fragility. Some pieces are related to the history of theatre, others embrace on the single act of repetition. Beyond Human Impulses creates a temporary space where performance work can be realized, discussed, experimented with, and experienced.
The diversity of the 18 performance pieces presented from April 13th - April 15th, will definitely intensify polarity, trigger enthusiasm and welcome new interpretations.

Beyond Human Impulses is hosted by Athens Intersection at the Commercial Triangle in cooperation with the Athens Municipality. The building of 3 Chrysospiliotissis Street which has been temporarily granted by the Hatzikonstas Foundation, has been given to the public after 17 years thanks to the Commercial Triangle, which aims to revive the area. The program of the municipality of Athens is supported by an exclusive donation from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (ISN) with the cooperation of the Athens Partnership.
Athens Intersection is curated by Georg Georgakopoulos, coordinated by Fotini Kapiris, and the Performance series is curated by Thanos Vovolis.
